He was the first foot and ankle surgeon in Northwest Indiana trained in the Swiss techniques of bone healing, which utilizes screws and plates to facilitate faster healing and better range of motion post-operatively. This allows easier weight bearing and primary bone healing – essential to excellent post-operative recovery. He trained a second year in South Bend at the Osteopathic Hospital further refining his skills in reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle.
Doctor Fedorchak is a firm believer in painless surgical procedures for his patients. Having taught at Indiana University School of Medicine for three years as an Associate Faculty member, he authored and published four articles on nerve and body function. He presently teaches at Loretto Hospital in Chicago and is involved as an attending surgeon in their three-year Foot and Ankle Reconstructive Surgery Residency Program.
